This panel will situate current issues of LIS education in a changing society with respect to analogous problems during the past 125 years, and the ways our founding mothers rose to meet those challenges. Its audience is the ALISE membership, and all attendees at the centennial meeting are invited to participate. The panelists will each contribute five minutes of remarks that culminate in a question for further discussion. The remaining time will be allocated between panelist and audience responses.
